Masjid Al-Inshirah...
Masjid Al-Inshirah, Inc. began in January, 1992 when a small group of Muslim men and women came together to discuss building a new
Masjid in the Baltimore metropolitan area. Bound by the need for a greater effort to spread the word of Al-Islam, Masjid Al-Inshirah was established.
Our name was chosen from the Holy Qur'an,
Surah 94 translated 'The Expansion', to express the true nature of the
expansion that comes from Allah alone, for which we pray.
As Muslims living in America, we find
ourselves just a small percentage of the diversity that makes up an
unusual and strong society. We are compelled by our faith in Allah
to live harmoniously and productively within a global rather than
parochial context. It is our duty to treat people fairly, to treat
people with respect and to obey the laws of the United States of America
and the state of Maryland. We strive to live in the world as
honorable and compassionate Muslims, open to the richness and joy that is
experienced from a variety of relationships based on love for the sake of
Allah.
